Since the adidas Samba has quickly become the “shoe of the Summer,” many people seem to have forgotten about the Nike Waffle One. Still, the silhouette keeps coming out in more and more interesting colorways, even replacing its usual Swoosh logo with one made of woven fabric.
The Nike Waffle One is a classic reborn in new form
With the exception of the sole unit, which has white midsoles and gum bottoms, the rest of the colorway is based on the above-mentioned Swoosh and mimics its undyed look. To do this, almost everything, from the canvas base to the TPU heel piece, is dyed a light shade of tan that closely matches the color of the logo. Even the “Nike” hit along the sockliner is a direct reference to the woven fabric, as the style of the text is similar.
Nike keeps showing off its technical skills, but this time it’s with a fabric from the old days. The Nike Waffle One is a classic that has been given a new look by taking ideas from old fabrics and putting them together with modern technology.
