The next in Nike SB’s series of collaborations with local shops is an SB Dunk Low with Crushed Skate Shop of Washington, DC.
A lot of thought went into making this shoe
At first glance, this SB Dunk release has the usual color-blocking of slate brown suede, white tumbled leather, and bright orange on the interior, Swoosh logo, and outsole. However, there are a few more subtle choices that set this release apart from the rest. First, the Swoosh looks like it has streaks of scuffed marks that make it look like marble. The outsole is made of Nike Grind rubber, which was chosen because it is good for the environment. Crushed DC adds a reconstructed fat tongue with bigger vents to help keep the shoe from getting too hot. The last thing is that Crushed DC is written in classic fonts on the Nike SB tongue label.
This is a great example of how two things can work well together. The shop can reach out to more skateboarders and try something new, and Nike can add another tasty colorway to their collection.
