Nike has just six months left to celebrate the Air Max 1’s 35th anniversary. Many of the currently announced products will set trends and tones as the Air Max 1 approaches 40 years old.
This shoe features color-blocking and a unique material
Here’s the first time you’ve seen a Nike Air Max 1 in its most classic color-blocking style, but with a rather unusual material. The mudguard, quarter, heel, and Swoosh are all made of high-quality tumbled leather. The classic sport mesh at the toe and nylon at the ankle are the other parts that make this must-have colorway. The classic white midsole is paired with a light grey rubber outsole that shows a yellow Air unit through the Air Max window. At the back of the shoe, just below the Nike Swoosh, it says “AIR MAX.”
Conclusion
“Tumbled leather” is a surprising material to see on Nike’s “Air Max 1,” but it works well to create a modernized, casual look. It’s great that Nike decided to take the Air Max 1 in a new direction instead of just trying to keep up with what other brands were doing.
