The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 has been a key part of the company’s performance history, but it hasn’t always been a mainstay in the company’s product line.
A timeless design that’s been given a quality and comfort boost
The silhouette came out recently as part of a “Inspected by Swoosh” collection that looks at a different side of “The 10” collection’s “behind the curtain” theme. Most of the leather upper is in the colors “Pearl White” and “Phantom,” but the “Hot Curry” swooshes give the shoe some personality. The top of the tongue and the back of the shoe are made of high-quality leather. The sock-liners have the most theme-related detail. Lastly, the herringbone-patterned tread is made from recycled materials, which fits with the Swoosh’s goal of being environmentally friendly.
The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 has a lot going on, but thanks to its iconic silhouette and attractive mix of materials, it doesn’t overdo it (at least most of the time). The sneaker is less wild than some of Nike’s other recent releases, which works in its favor.
