Before the current crop of amazing players in the WNBA, Lisa Leslie was the best. The former center for the Los Angeles Sparks recently got the honor of getting her very own Nike Dunk Low.
The sneaker is a breath of fresh air amid Dunks
Peter Moore’s 37-year-old design is a cheeky nod to one of Leslie’s most important achievements: she was the first player in WNBA history to dunk the ball. Each iconic panel of the upcoming Nike Dunk is covered in “Court Purple,” “Clear Emerald,” and bright gold. The number “9,” which was worn by the Compton, California, native, is stitched on the lateral heel. The same color scheme is also used on the nylon tongues, while the “White” and “Black” sole units on the bottom of the shoes are a departure from the Sparks-inspired style.
Overall, the Nike Dunk Low Lisa Leslie is a great low-top sneaker that would be a great addition to anyone’s collection. The shoe is both a piece of sneaker history and a new version of a popular classic. If you like low-top shoes, you might want to add this one to your collection.
