Nike is harnessing the Chinese philosophical notion of Yin and Yang with their latest Air Max 97, dubbed “Set To Rise.” And, while the symbol is shown in black and white, the colorway is filled with yellows, reds, and blues, so it isn’t entirely monochrome.
The shoe’s mesh upper and bright color are attractive
The upper’s mesh is dressed in sky blues, which show between the white piping throughout the top half. Below, blacks build out the mudguard in a rough, textured leather, mostly concealing the red and yellow layers. Additional examples of the latter can be found on the tongue, where the traditional branding has been replaced by the Yin and Yang motif noted earlier. Furthermore, the sock liner carries on similar concepts by framing the emblem with the inscription “SET TO RISE.”
The “Set to Rise” Nike Air Max 97 is an iconic colorway of the shoe. If the shoe works out as planned, this could be a must-buy for Nike Air Max fans, and sneaker fans will probably be very excited about it.
