We already seem to have a lot to look forward to this year, as more and more classic sneakers are set to come out again. Along with the “Atlantic Blue” and “Metallic Silver” Nike Air Max 97s, the “Hemp” Nike Air Max 1 Crepe is also back. When it first came out in 2004, this colorway became an instant classic.

The retro-style footwear for summer

In 2022, the Nike Air Max 1 will be 35 years old, so it only makes sense that Nike would bring out their best shoes from the past. The upper of the original sneaker was made of a unique burlap material, but it looks like the toe box material has been changed for the upcoming retro based on the first look photos. It looks a little less like burlap and more like wicker. The “Hemp” theme comes to life with the smooth tan suede finish on the extended mudguard that wraps around the shoe. With a touch of mint green, the Nike Swoosh adds just the right amount of color. The sneaker’s upper is finished off with an off-white crepe sole.

Now that you know what the Nike Air Max 1 “Hemp” is, we hope that you are already a fan or at least know more about the shoe. Even though it was a controversial release at the time, it’s still a standout in the Air Max 1 line.
