With all the buzz about Yeezy Day 2022, Ye and his Three Stripes family haven’t put out many new shoes. That will change on August 2, when the Yeezy 450 “Utility Black” comes out.
It updates a traditional shoe style with ultra-modern, future-chic details
At first glance, the sneaky pair just looks like the “Dark Slate” release from June 2021, but a closer look reveals a different outfit. The sole unit, which is made of a single piece and looks like a claw, is all black to match the “Utility Black” Primeknit upper. The color of the title is used for the collars, laces, and spines. This is different from last year’s similar Yeezy sneaker, which had a brown section around the heel. “Black”-colored Yeezys aren’t new, but the person formerly known as “Kanye West” has a confusing way of naming things. For example, the above colorways are almost the same as “Onyx” ones, which have been seen on the Yeezy Slides.
It’s rare for Adidas to treat Yeezy like a regular brand and release a new colorway that seems random, but this one has a trick up its sleeve: Utility Black might be the hardest Yeezy release ever.
