The Nike Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima,” which first came out in 2003, is back. When it first came out, this sneaker was inspired by Japan, but it was only sold in Canada and Asia. This is the first time the sneaker has been sold in the United States.

The detailed lines with subtle tiny changes make this pair more unique

The Nike Air Trainer 1 has been getting a lot of new colorways recently. Given how popular the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 “Wheat” is, it’s easy to see why Nike would decide to bring back the “Shima Shima.” Their colorways go well together. The upper is made entirely of suede and has a “Hay” base with “Baroque Brown” overlays and a “Nike Swoosh” logo. “Taupe” adds tonal details to the sneaker and helps make a tan trifecta that matches the striped sockliner. A speckled midsole and a red Kanji tag on the tongue are the finishing touches.

The Shima-Shima Air Trainer 1 is a great mix of modern and vintage styles that works well in many situations. It’s great to see that Nike has brought back the retro trend they started in 2003, keeping many of their old classics alive.
