Kanye West took to Twitter to accuse Adidas CEO Kasper Rorste of stealing one of his designs. Ye claims that the Adilette Slide 22 is a counterfeit of his Yeezy Slide. Let’s take a whole look at this scandal with Sneaker Houses!
Kanye West Accused Adidas of Creating Fake Yeezy
The unpredictable millionaire has said Adidas marketed a counterfeit version of his signature sneaker, the Yeezy. According to Footwear News, the Donda rapper complained about the Adidas Adilette 22 slides in a now-deleted Instagram post, specifically directly naming Rorste.
Kanye West accuses Adidas of copying Yeezy designs
“DRIVING DOWN THE SAME STREET AS KOBE” “Maybe I feel that Mamba spirit right now To Kasper I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more,” the Chicago-born rapper wrote on Tuesday evening (June 13).
“To all sneaker culture To every ball player rapper or even if you work at the store This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll lose their contract or be called crazy Bravery is not being afraid Bravery is overcoming your fear for your truth This Ye with the blue paint on my face. “
“These shoes represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves I’m not talking to DC about this either Kasper come to talk to me Happy Monday,” Ye said in the post, which included a picture of the Adidas sandal.
According to Complex, West provided screenshots disclosing specifics of his deal with Adidas later that night in a second but similarly removed the post. His current contract with the corporation expires in 2026. The message hinted at Yeezy departing from the Adidas brand, which corresponds with his previous business movements. Ye submitted YEEZUS trademark applications for cosmetics, toys, games, NFTS, clothes, and an amusement park in May.
Yeezy Slide vs Adidas Adilette 22 Comparision
As a long-time enthusiast of footwear, I’m thrilled that businesses are upgrading and creating something entirely new. However, things have gotten out of hand and have become a scandal. I believe the hype and attention around the Adilette 22 are simply because of the fact that they actually resemble the Yeezy Slide.
I suppose if it weren’t for the Yeezy Slide, the Adilettes 22 wouldn’t gain much attention. Although the design is similar to the Yeezy Slides, the comfort and fitting are vastly different between them. Let’s compare Adidas Yeezy Slide vs Adidas Adilette 22!

The brand-new Adidas Adilette 22has a hefty retail price of $55. Besides, the Adidas Yeezy Slide, which was originally priced at $55, is now $60 at the time of writing this comparison.
The Adidas Adilette 22 will be available on June 23rd. There was a very limited run of these sneakers available via the Adidas App. As a result, the only option to get a pair of these shoes is to pay for resale. However, I believe that a few months after its introduction, this shoe should be very simple to obtain on shop shelves and, most likely, on Adidas’ website. The Adidas Yeezy Slide, although having a retail price that is fairly close to that of the Adilette 22, is very difficult to get. In fact, your odds of acquiring them for retail are minimal to none.
The Yeezy Slide is essentially only available to folks who can afford to pay $150 to $200 for a pair of slides, which is much too much money in my view. Therefore, when it comes to affordability and availability, the Adidas Adilette 22s is over the Yeezy Slides. If you have to buy a pair of Adilettes for resale, the resale price isn’t outrageous. It’s about $80, which is 25 percent higher than the retail price, but it might be less.
Design of Yeezy Slide vs Adidas Adilette 22
Since its introduction in 2019, the Adidas Yeezy Slide has been very popular, thanks in large part to its style. According to Kanye, the design of this shoe is primarily influenced by Japanese footwear, and it is also available in a very simple and nearly monolithic shape. When spotted, this sneaker is immediately recognized.
Adidas YEEZY Slides dropped at retailers on April 26 with three new colorways — “Core,” “Resin” and “Pure” — applied to the coveted Kanye West
Even though there are a lot of fakes and individuals that duplicate this shoe, unless you’re absolutely out of the loop, you know what you’re looking at when you see a pair of Yeezy Slides. While this style may not be for everyone, you can’t deny that this shoe has a very basic and clean aesthetic that goes with almost anything.
Adidas chose to radically remodel one of its best-selling goods in 2022, giving it a unique, futuristic, and polarizing aesthetic. The Adilettes feature a one-piece foam design similar to the Yeezy Slide, but they have a Minecraft flavor to them. The Adilette 22 seems to be a hybrid of a Yeezy Slide and a Salehe Bembury Crocs Pollex.
Aside from the obvious aesthetic modifications, the Adilette 22’s best feature has to be that it is totally 3D printed. It is created entirely of natural and renewable materials, as part of Adidas’ ongoing effort to lessen its carbon impact.
The Adilatte 22 looks nothing like the previous iteration since Adidas took ideas from outer space for its design. Human expeditions to Mars, according to Adidas, provided inspiration. Their website even states that they were attempting to answer the question “What would slides look like in space?” with this pair. So they created a pair that resemble seismic waves. Each of these waves is elevated, giving it a distinct appearance and rugged type of feel.

This slide is not a popular slide outside, in my opinion. However, I believe the Adilette 22 is fantastic. For everyone who adores 3D printing, I thought it was a pretty nice aesthetic before knowing about the Mars inspiration. And if you want to do something different, this is a good option.
The Adilette hues are similarly comparable to Yeezys, with a lot of earth tones. So, based on the overall design, I’d choose Adidas Yeezy Slides, not only because it’s a more wearable shoe in my view, but also because I believe this shoe will be always in vogue.
The Adilette 22 slides are made of a different material from the previous Adilette slides, which were constructed of Cloud Foam. The Cloud Foam is substantially softer than the injected EVA foam of the Adilettes 22. However, I think the softness of these is quite pleasant.
The Adilette 22 is a one-piece shoe made of the same material as the Yeezy Slide. One noteworthy aspect of this substance is that it seems to be 17 percent plant-based. It was supposed this shoe is composed of sugar cane.
The Adidas Adilette 22 is a really soft underfoot slide. It is substantially more comfortable than the original Adilette, in my view. While I like to wear these shoes with socks, you can get away with wearing these without socks since the finish on this foam is somewhat more semi-gloss than the finish on the Yeezy Slides. This means the Adilettes don’t adhere to your foot as much, which in some ways makes the fit a touch less, but it also doesn’t rub against your foot as much as the Yeezy Slide does.
The Yeezy Slide is much more pleasant than the Adidas Adilette 22. For whatever reason, the EVA foam utilized in the Yeezy Slides is substantially softer. Maybe it’s less dense. I’m not sure what difference there is in the actual composition of the EVA foam, but the Yeezy Slide feels much softer underfoot.
If I were to compare the softness of the Yeezy Slides to another pair of Yeezy sneakers, the Yeezy Slide is extremely comparable to the Yeezy Foam Runners. If you’re not acquainted with Yeezys, it’s also extremely similar to a pair of Adidas Boost shoes.
Squeezing the footbeds of each of these sneakers reveals how much softer the Yeezy Slide is. Also, the Yeezy makes you feel like you’re walking on clouds. The Adilette is absolutely soft and comfortable, particularly when compared to conventional slides, however, the Yeezy Slides are more comfortable and squishier. If you like a firmer ride, opt for the Adidas Adilette 22s.
Fits and sizing
You must try it before you purchase any sneaker at Adidas. Moreover, US size and UK size also have differences. Some sneaker lineups also differentiate in sizes. That is the reason why we would care about this problem before buying.
In Adidas, you can’t grab the shoe in half sizes, and if you’re half size, you’re going to have some trouble there too. So, as far as sizing recommendations go for the Adidas Adilette 22, if you’re full size, go with your true size. However, it will fit maybe a little bit longer and also a little bit wide. I mean it fits big. Not a huge amount big and not enough to where I’d say go down a whole size, but it definitely fits a little bit big. On the other hand, for half-size-footed people, this shoe fits great. If you’re a size 9.5, grab a size 9 or any half size down and the shoe will fit you great.
For the first two years of the Yeezy Slide releases, the sizing was also all over the place. However, unlike with the Adilette, the older versions of the Yeezy Slide used to fit small. So, if you are a size 9, you’d want to grab a size 10.
But that all changed when Yeezy released the Ochre colorways. The difference between the Ochres and any of the previous slides, the Pures or the Resins, is that the Ochres actually fit true to size and it seems like moving forward. So, slides like the newly released Onyx all seem to fit true to size. I’m glad that they fixed the sizing at least on the Yeezy Slide so that you can grab a true size and be good with your true size.
You never know with Adidas and you’re always going to have to read online to make sure that the shoe that you’re getting in that particular color fits a certain way. So, as far as sizing goes, I guess I have to give it to the Yeezy Slides because the newer versions of this shoe do fit true to size.
However, if you look at the total lineup of Yeezy Slides, the sizing of these slides is way more inconsistent than the Adilettes because there have only been three colorways of these to release and they’re probably not going to change the sizing of this shoe.
I think it depends on your feeling to say which is more suitable for you. However, it can be denied that Yeezy Slice and Adilette 22 have some familiar characters. I’d love to hear your opinions on the Adidas Yeezy Slide versus Adidas Adilette 22, and which one you prefer. Please share your ideas in the comment area below. Thank you for sticking with me through this comparison.
